Posture Analysis | Pain to Performance SolutionsPosture analysis is known as Posturology and used in Neurosomatic Therapy and other types of services. Posturology is significant in massage therapy for assessing postural distortions which cause pain and many other issues throughout the body. Practiced and used by leading massage educators early in the 20th century it has been fine tuned to what it is today. These postural distortions come from myoskeletal elements, the bony structure, ligaments, tendons, muscles and fascia. For instance, fallen arches, leg length inequality differences, and irregularities of the pelvic bones are the major contributor to dysfunction. Dysfunction in the body can be felt as low back pain, hip pain, glute pain, knee pain, foot pain, mid back pain, upper back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, TMJ and headaches.

Posture Analysis Assessment

Measuring the posture for analysis | Pain to Performance SolutionsAt Pain to Performance Solutions this is one of the assessment tools used determine the source of your pain and discomfort. Through detailed charting of the bony landmarks, we can quickly see which muscles are contributing factors and whether it is possibly structural, muscular, visceral, cranial or a combination of all four.

One of the modalities we use this analysis tool with is NKT. We find that, this is a great way to show clients that the results have been achieved after the session is over. Thru muscle activation and release the change can be significant and reflect in improved  posture.

There are instances where we can not resolve the dysfunction. This would be when one has a true structural deficiency. The client would then need to be referred out for an x-ray to see the differences from one side of the pelvic to the others in millemetters. This person would then need to be fitted for a lift inside their shoe or onto their shoe to balance the pelvic out.
